11-16 F250/350 Frame Overlay Install Guide

  1. 1 Prep the frame

    Wipe down the frame rail surface where the overlay sits so it seats flat and your marks show up clearly.

  2. 2 11-16 F250/ 350 Front Frame Overlay install (Bumper Side)
    Tools:
    • T20
    • 13 mm Socket
    • 8-32 Tap
    • #29 Drill Bit
    • Drill

    Unbolt the factory brake line bracket at location 2 using a 13mm socket so the overlay can sit behind it. Reinstall the bolt and bracket to secure the Frame Overlay to the frame.

    For Location 1, you will need to drill the frame with a #29 Drill bit and then Tap with a 8-32 Tap. Once complete you can install the included #8-32 x 1/2" Torx head screw.

    Repeat for passenger side.

  3. 3 11-16 F250/ 350 Front Frame Overlay install (Cab Side)
    Tools:
    • T20
    • 8-32 Tap
    • #29 Drill Bit
    • Marker
    • Drill

    For Location 3 and 4, place the Frame Overlay against the frame so that it is aligned as seen in the photo. Mark these locations with a marker. You will need to drill the frame with a #29 Drill bit and then Tap with a 8-32 Tap. Once complete you can install the included #8-32 x 1/2" Torx head screw.

    Repeat for passenger side.

  4. 4 11-16 F250/ 350 Rear Frame Overlay install
    Tools:
    • 9/16 Wrench
    • 9/16 Socket

    Remove the overload spring mounts if applicable.

    Place the Frame Overlay against the frame so that it is aligned as seen in the photo. Using the included 3/8" bolts, mount the Frame Overlay to the existing frame holes. Start all bolts by hand to locate the Frame Overlay, then tighten evenly. (35 ft lbs)

    Repeat for passenger side.

    Some trucks have the overload spring mounts riveted in place rather than bolted. If so, the rivets must be drilled out before continuing the install.
